Questions people actually ask
Do I need a card to start the trial?+−
Yes — but nothing is charged for 14 days. You create your workspace, pick the plan you want to try, and enter a card. Full access starts immediately, and cancelling before day 14 costs nothing. The card is there for one reason: it stops the same business taking the free trial over and over under new email addresses. We never see your card number — Stripe holds it.
How does the pricing work?+−
Everyone pays £129 a month for the platform — live bookings, driver check-in, contacts and your own branding. Everything else is a module you switch on: Warehouse & racking £119, Case picking £99, Deliveries & evidence £69, Telematics £69, Carrier & supplier portal £59, TV wallboard £49, and Meat traceability £399 with bench stations at £89 each. Modules switch on and off from Plan & billing, pro-rated, and yearly billing gives two months free.
Can I see where a lorry actually is?+−
Driver phone location works today: each haulier gets a private link — no account, no app — where the driver can choose to share live location while en route. Carrier telematics (Webfleet, Samsara, Microlise) is built and visible in the product but marked not connected yet, because they are not. We will say so plainly the day they are.
Can I switch plans, or cancel, later?+−
Yes to both — upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time from the billing tab inside DockLedger. There's no long-term contract, and nothing you've already saved gets deleted if you downgrade.
Is my data secure?+−
Every row of your data is stamped with your company and guarded by database-level security rules, so a request for another company's bookings returns nothing — the isolation is enforced by the database itself. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and hosted in the UK. We are registered with the ICO as a data controller (ZC231614).
Does it work with my existing spreadsheets?+−
Yes. Drop in a CSV or Excel export from pretty much any system — DockLedger looks for a handful of columns (carrier, dates, sign-in/out times) and maps them automatically.
What if it turns out not to be for us?+−
Tell us within 30 days of your first payment and we refund it in full. The free trial counts inside those 30 days, so trying it first costs you none of the guarantee. Cancelling stops the next payment — it does not delete anything, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
Why does my statement say something other than DockLedger?+−
Payments run through Stripe Managed Payments, which makes Stripe the merchant of record. Your statement shows a Stripe descriptor — typically ONELINK* DOCKLEDGER — and the VAT invoice is issued by Stripe under their tax registration. Your agreement for the software is still with us: support, your data and cancellation are ours to sort out.
